This session will overview the basic components of a private grant proposal, how to understand what the funder is looking for, and how to align your proposal to the funders’ priorities.
Approaching a private funder is a lot different from approaching a public funding opportunity. What a private funder is interested in supporting is usually much broader, and the information that they want to see is usually much less apparent. This session will overview the basic components of a private grant proposal, how to understand what the funder is looking for, and how to align your proposal to the funders’ priorities. Private funders respond well to a fully-formed story that describes the antagonist (the problem you’re trying to solve), the hero’s quest (your program), and the hero (that’s you!). This session will explore how to tell your organization’s story in the most “fundable” way.
